Report should be sent to DPP - Rabbitte - The Irish Times - Tue, Mar 22, 2011

Report should be sent to DPP - Rabbitte - The Irish Times - Tue, Mar 22, 2011: "Mr Rabbitte who was a so-called “super junior” minister at the time, said the “project team and consultants followed best practice, as far as we were aware”. He noted that “the officials involved in the process had no knowledge at any time of any relationship between the then minister” and Esat Digifone boss Denis O’Brien"?HERE WE GO AGAIN,THE BANKS GAVE FALSE INFORMATION TO THE GOVERNMENT BEFORE THE BANK GUARANTEE,IT APPEARS NOW THAT BEST PRACTICE WAS NOT FOLLOWED IN THE GRANTING OF A PHONE LICENCE BY MICHAEL LOWERY?SO I DECIDED TO REPEAT A LETTER IN TODAYS(22/3/2011)IRISH DAILY MAIL BY A LIAM O BRIEN DUBLIN 6,"NO EXCUSE"During the present blame game on who is responsible for our ecomonic meltdown, two state organisations have"wrongly"managed to stay above the law-the revenue commissioners and theGarda. In the case of the revenue ,billions of pounds and euros in unpaid taxes were"allowed"to be squirrelled away by developers and builders, and it appears to me the Revenue did the minimum to collect this money during the past 20 years.Hundreds of millions of euros were stopped from workers wages in prsi and paye and that money ended up in the pockets of these developers and was never paid into government offices.Hundreds of millions, possibly billions, have been paid out in expensive tribunals and inquiries into sheer blatant criminality and wrong-doing down the years. If the Garda had been doing its job properly and dilligently, these tribunals would "never"have been necessary. In a normal,properly-valued country the wrongdoers would have been arrested, brought before the courts and hopefully jailed. The garda excuses about lack of power;s ring hollow-it has more powers than any police force in europe. They simply chose not to do their job.In the UK it would not have been allowed to happen. At the moment they have ex-MPs and ministers serving jail sentences,WHY NOT HERE?Where is the criminal assets bureau? Why hasen't this been used against developers, bankers, builders, and TDs?WE NEED TO KNOW?ITS NOT THE FIRST OF APRIL YET?
