Juvenile Justice Information Portfolio - Committee on the Rights of the Child - 3. State Party Reports: Ireland: "The existing Rules for the Government of Prisons, 1947 (sect. 222 (3)) also provide that juveniles (i.e. prisoners under the age of 17 years) who have not been in prison before and who are well conducted in prison shall be kept separate from those who have been in prison before or who misbehave in prison. Section 224 also provides for the separation of juvenile offenders from adult offenders when taking exercise, receiving instruction and attending chapel."?
